Dear Families,

Welcome to Highland Park Elementary and the wonderful world of Kindergarten! We are so very excited to have you and we look forward to getting to know you and your family this upcoming year!

We know that the transition to Kindergarten is a very important step for both child and family and we would like to help make that transition as successful as possible. On this website, we have provided you with various resources to help make the transition smooth, ways to be prepared for the upcoming year and much more.

We invite you to take a look around on this site and utilize the resources provided. We will continue to find more resources to help make the transition easier and will add them to this site.

We are excited to meet you and your family and start this exciting journey together!

Early Learning Day & Caregiver PresentationsHighland Park Elementary and the HP PTA cordially invite you to attend one of the following caregiver presentations for families entering Kindergarten in Fall 2026:

Tuesday, March 3rd from 11:00 - 12:00 pm in the HP Library - campus tour to follow

Friday, March 27th from 11:00 - 12:00 pm in the HP Library - campus tour to follow

During the orientation you will meet HP Principal Katie Peña, hear from the talented Kinder Team of teachers on school readiness, have an opportunity to ask questions, and learn how to get involved at Highland Park.

Hosted in the library -tailored for adult caregivers of incoming kindergarteners. Meet in the front office. Please bring your ID.

April 2nd from 8:30-9:30 AM is Early Learning & Classroom Visit Day at Highland Park Elementary. We invite all new incoming Fall 2026 students and their caregivers to attend this informational event.

During the 30 minute classroom visit, students will visit a Kindergarten and participate in learning activities while parents remain in the cafeteria and hear from Principal Peña and members of the HP Faculty, learn about programs sponsored by the PTA, receive enrollment help, and more.

Not a Kinder student? No problem! All new-to-Highland Park families are welcome. We will also have classroom visit opportunities for non-Kinder students.

Caregivers: Please bring ID and check in at the front office.
